About This Praesidium

Our Lady of Good Counsel Praesidium is a women-only praesidium associated with Holy Family Parish in North Belfast. The group meets every Monday evening at 7:30 PM on the first floor of Frank Duff House, 14 Cliftonville Road — the same building that houses the Our Lady Queen of Peace Praesidium.

The praesidium seeks to be a presence of Mary in the Parish and to share her conviction and practice of True Devotion to Mary. Because true devotion to Mary involves apostleship, the members aim to make a significant contribution to promoting the lay apostolate in the Parish.

New members are warmly welcome — simply come along to Frank Duff House on any Monday just before 7:30 PM.

Activities & Apostolic Works

• Home-to-home visitation distributing Miraculous Medals, leaflets, rosary beads, and prayer cards
• Placing Legion statues of Mary in homes for periods of time
• Saturday stall at St Mary's Chapel, Chapel Lane
• Weekly Thursday Rosary at the Grotto of Our Lady, Duncairn Parade (7:30 PM)
• Contacting primary schools to establish Holy Rosary programmes
• Supplying blessed rosary beads, prayer cards, and Miraculous Medals to schools
