About This Praesidium

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Praesidium meets at the Kilmegan Parish Centre, adjacent to St Malachy's Church in Castlewellan. Members gather every Monday morning at 10:00 AM (arriving around 9:50 AM).

The object of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation in Mary's and the Church's work.

The praesidium carries out a variety of apostolic works in the local area, from door-to-door visitation to regular prayer gatherings. Members are particularly active in promoting the Rosary and visiting those who are housebound or isolated, bringing comfort and spiritual fellowship to those in need.

Activities & Apostolic Works

• Rosary recitation at the Grotto every Thursday at 2:00 PM
• Rosary before weekday Masses
• Door-to-door distribution of Miraculous Medals
• Fatima Statue home visitations
• Visits to housebound and isolated parishioners
• Legion stand volunteering in Newcastle, Downpatrick, and Castlewellan (Saturdays 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM)
